At Evergreen Pediatrics the “illness care” we offer your child is just the tip of the iceberg. We have embraced the Medical Home Model, which implies holistic care for your child’s emotional, physical, cognitive and social development—focusing essentially on wellness. This model of care incorporates personal attention from a primary pediatrician who can provide continuity of care for your child. Further, the medical home necessitates access when you need it, exemplified by our 24 hour phone care, and extended weekday and weekend morning hours.
In addition, our electronic medical record seamlessly links both our practice locations at the Legacy Salmon Creek and PeaceHealth Southwest sites. This allows all patients to be seen at either office, with complete access to their medical record. For your convenience, prescriptions can be electronically transmitted to your pharmacy from the exam room, and are often ready when you arrive at the pharmacy.
A medical home should emphasize state-of-the-art, evidence-based, pediatric care with continuous quality improvement. With this in mind, we collaborate in quality of care initiatives with other independent pediatric-only practices in the metro area. Our clinic is especially proud of the work we have done in optimizing the care of our patients with asthma, and assuring vaccination for our patients.
We are dedicated to the care of the infants, children and adolescents of Clark County—this is our mission, and it is all we do. All of us work extremely hard in this endeavor, which we consider a privilege–the care of your child.
In addition to the successful completion of medical school, pediatricians complete three years of intensive specialized training in the care of patients from birth through adolescence. Pediatricians maintain certification through the American Board of Pediatrics, and only then are eligible to become Fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP).
Drs. Holland, Cuneo, Goodwin, and Benz participate in the education of family practice residents (doctors-in-training) of the Family Medicine Southwest Residency Program, an affiliate program of the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr Cronkhite, Cuneo, Benz, and Holland work with medical students. If your child is seeing one of these pediatrician-educators you may have the occasional opportunity to be seen by the doctor-in-training and then your regular doctor. This will always be your choice and is never mandatory. Medical decisions are always made by the Evergreen pediatrician you are seeing.
