Our pediatricians see newborns at Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Family Birth Centers every day of the year. When you deliver at one of these hospitals, each morning during your stay one of our pediatricians will meet you and examine your newborn.
Two or three days after going home, babies are typically evaluated once again, either in our office by a pediatrician or at the Family Birth Center by a perinatal nurse. This visit is important to monitor feeding, growth and mother-baby well-being. Your infant’s first routine well child care visit usually occurs at about 2 week of age. Between office visits, we are available to answer questions and provide guidance.
